I would like to thank you for making the trip enjoyable, the casting tuition was first class & I’ve been getting in some practice & trying to remember all the tips you gave me. I’ve never laughed so much in one week, it was a real tonic. The Lune is back down to zero, prospects are dire at the moment with only a few weeks left, at least I can say that I have not had a fishless season & I have had a salmon out of the Namsen, brilliant.

Tight Lines.

What better way to celebrate your 50 years than with a trip to fish some of Norway's finest rivers. Our guide from SShoot had an uncanny knack of finding substantial water levels after weeks of drought and little rainfall during our visit. My effort was rewarded with 7 possible takes over 4 days of difficult fishing. All the other members of our group managed to account for salmon. What to do?? Charge batteries and keep trying. This formula resulted in a fine salmon of 5.2kgs and smaller ones of 2.4 and 1.9 in the last 24 hours of fishing, A big thank you to my companions for their help, skills and encouragement in gaining my goal. What it will be like with much more water will keep me dreaming through the winter until next years visit.

The scenery and the fishing in Afjord was all you promised.  Perhaps somewhat influenced by the catching of my first salmon and Sea Trout after years of trying in Wales, Ireland and Scotland. Breathtaking water, fantastic variation including still water and stunning prospects. Your companionship and advice was invaluable.

I cant wait to come again.

It was a week of great fun, good company and an opportunity to see different beats on a number of rivers. In many places it is demanding and not for the beginner but, with the amount of fishing available I am quite sure that SShoot would be able to tailor a package to suit anyone. Even in low conditions we managed to catch 20 fish which was quite an achievement! The self catering accommodation has everything you will need including home comforts such as Sky TV, if you can find time to watch! Don’t worry about shopping, Mike takes it all on board and the fridge is always well stocked with anything you fancy. Everyone in our party mucked in and helped with cooking or clearing up and it was never a chore. From the fishing point of view, we were very unlucky with conditions against us almost all week. However all of our party managed to catch fish and some of the less experienced members learnt a great deal about how to fish small rivers using different methods to suit the conditions. As to costs, when compared to such exotic locations as Russia, Iceland or the big, famous rivers in Norway, these out of the way places are a complete bargain.

Would I go again? Health and wealth willing, roll on 2005!
